Life in a Spiritual Development Meeting

For those of you who have never sat in a Spiritual circle meeting you are welcome to read about our weekly experiences using our intuition and medium skills to talk to friends and spirit guides on the other side. We meet on Monday evenings at Sue’s house; she is our teacher/guide. There are usually around six or seven of us; which is the norm for such meetings. Sue kindly protects her home for us before we arrive, and sets an atmosphere with lighted scented candles, oracle cards, pendulums and crystals of every conceivable colour - all neatly displayed on her violet velvet tablecloth. We like to think of ourselves as spirit messengers hense we tittled our group 'The Messengers'. We pass forward information from the spirit dimension to us earthly beings. You will soon get to know us all as you read on.

Names from top: Sue, Maria, Paul, Leslie, Oz, Jenny, and most important, Crystal the cat.

Monday 15 May 2007

It was a bit chilly outside but the evening sky was still a pleasant pale blue; which meant for us that the curtains had to be drawn as it is easier to observe spirit and auras in a  dimly lit surrounding. When Leslie and I, entered Sue’s house, Marie sat waiting for us at the round table with two new members. This meant that for this evening there would be seven of us. Sue welcomed us with her happy chatty manner and introduced us all. I must say that the evening turned out like no other I have attended before.

We sat at the table and had a light discussion about what psychic events had happened to us the week before - I must add not all of us have psychic events. Paul, Sue’s son, then entered the room and the circle was complete. We read a few cards just to warm us up a bit, and then Sue asked us all to go to the other end of the room to chill out and do some light meditation. That’s all it was, light meditation. Sue talked us through the process by focusing on our bodies and drawing a white light around us. This process keeps us grounded and protects us.

When finished we slowly opened our eyes. That is, all except Leslie. I have always thought that Leslie had strong psychic connections; even though she had been going to circle for only a few months. Her head hung down, as though she was unconscious. This was only light meditation, but Leslie had gone into trance - meaning she had gone so deep that a spirit was trying to connect through her. Some people work hard at obtaining a state of trance, but this was not the purpose of our meeting. Although, I must say, Sue is well advanced to deal with such situations, should they arise.

Sue gently called Leslie’s name trying to bring her round but she was unable to speak, and also tears were rolling down her cheeks. In time she did come round and remembered nothing of what had happened, she said she had been listening to Sue’s voice then drifted of.

The colour returned to her face and we resumed class. We grouped into couples and read cards to see if we could develop our intuition to see into our past lives. This was quiet interesting and we all did well, and once again chatted about the outcome, when I heard Sue call Leslie‘s name. As I turned around her head had slumped forward again and she was gone.

I was worried about her. It wasn’t nice to see your friend in this condition, but I had better get used to it, as I think Leslie is going to be full of surprises. Sue could see a young girl in spirit wearing a black dress standing over her. Leslie kept whispering names and crying. She was deathly white. This time it was more difficult to get her round. Paul ran upstairs to get a cold flannel, and they tried to get water down her. Still she was out of it. We stood her up and led her to the table, and she asked why shewas dancing. She was still crying and asking for a person called Tracey. We keptcalling her to come back to us. It was only when we kept mentioning her daughter Jade that she looked up, ran her fingers through her hair and asked where she was?

All the time Sue had been speaking to the girl spirit asking her to leave Leslie. Relieved that Leslie was back with us we sat back down at the table to listen to Leslie’s side of the story. But she just sat there smiling unaware of what had taken place. Her colour came back and she was none the worse for her ordeal.

Later, Sue connected to the spirit and found that is was a young girl who had passed and lost her way. In her thoughts, Sue persuaded the girl to go forward to the light. And she disappeared leaving a bewildered Leslie. We convinced her that in fact she had done well as one more lost soul had been shown the way home.

We was all worried about Leslie getting home, so Sue gave her a rose quartz and black crystal, which she promptly put down her bra and arrived at her destination non the worse. She did say that she wanted to close her eyes again but she pulled herself out of it. Good old Leslie!

Stop by again to see how we get on…

As the evenings now drift into semi-darkness Sue helps create an atmosphere by drawing the curtains and lighting the candles until once again the mood is set for the circle meeting. Sue has light walls in her living room, this allows us to see each others aura’s more clearly. Most of us find seeing aura’s difficult at first, but patience and time brings its rewards.

The meetings are designed around developing our skills in psychic and mediumistic abilities. We started the evening with card reading: for this we use Oracle Cards instead of Tarot. The reason our circle prefers using Oracle Cards is because they are read by your own intuition. You gaze into the card and see what impressions are relayed to you by your own emotions. Everyone will perceive a card differently and the meaning will be their own interpretation. You may feel certain sensations, it could be sadness, fright, happiness, hot, pain; speak of what you feel. Use all your six senses. Look to see if the picture or symbol tells a story which may apply to the sitter? The aim is to go with your first instinct, even if it seems silly to you, it is probably important to the person who chose the card; so speak up. You will find that you will be saying things you don’t understand, this happens, and more often than not you will be correct. Remember you are using your own intuition to read the cards, which has more understanding of our inner subconscious.

We had our little chat about events that have taken place during the week, then read each others cards. This kind of warms us up, prepares us for the evening ahead.

I never imagined that anything like what happened last week with Leslie would happen again. So we settled into our next lesson. One by one we had to stand in thecentre of the circle, ground ourselves, ask (in our head) for our spirit guides to come forward. The object of the exercise was to see how our spirit guides chose to contact us. Sue feels pressure across her nose I, myself, feel my face burn (no it’s not a hot flush), others feel coldness, or tingling. Everyone feels differently.

We each took a turn; this is a lovely experience for both the person standing and those watching. When Marie stands up she has a beautiful white aura around her head. You also see white shapes around her which are her spirit guides and family. I have only just begun to see these shapes, I thought it would never develop, but it did. When Sue stands up, her aura is stronger than ours as she has been practising for many years, and her glow lights up the whole area around her.

Sue left Leslie until last. She asked to sit down, which I’m glad to say she did. Sue was gently speaking her through the exercise and everything was fine, until, Leslie completely collapsed in the chair with her head falling back. I whispered under my breath, ‘oh no not again.’

She slowly lifted up her head and looked at us. It was so slow and deliberate; I recognised the face but not the person inside. I held my breath for I don‘t know how long. Sue took over and began conversing with the spirit. The spirit kept asking for Susie; where was Susie.

Leslie then lifted her legs up to the bar of the chair; pulled her top over her knees and called for her mummy. The chair rocked back and forth we thought she was going to fall over. Sue asked the child to leave Leslie, which took some time, and then she let out a terrible noise and pointed to the staircase. It was the sound of a child shrieking whilst playing.

By this time I had my top covering my face. It is very rare that meetings are like this. The room was electric. Slowly Leslie came round. She got up and sat next to me on the sofa. She was startled by the reaction on my face and asked what had happened. When we told her she didn’t believe us. She said that she remembers hearing Sue’s voice then a window appeared in her minds eye, where a bright light glowed on the other side. She recalled the name Susie but that was all. We all needed biscuits and tea this time.

Sue explained to us that Leslie was in fact a trance medium. This was a surprise as she had only joined circle five months ago. Most people practise for years to get to the advanced stage of trance. And that she must learn to control it. It seems that the environment in Sue’s home relaxes Leslie to a state of trance. She just drifts off without any warning.

The end of the evening soon came and everyone left with an amazing story to tell our friends. Not forgetting that the rest of us were pleased with our own efforts in learning the art of psychic and spiritual development.

Speak to you again next time…

Above is a photo of Leslie. She is unaware that a gentleman named Harold is controlling her body movements. Harold is also unaware that he has passed and is inside Leslie. Sue speaks to him gently whilst he imagines he is still at his place of work. His occupation - he told us - was manager of a hotel called 'The Black Bull'. When asked why he was moving Leslies hands in an odd fashion he explained that he was keeping his desk tidy. And that is what you can see Leslie doing. She kept re-arranging the items on the table and complaining about the guests and menues. Using a well spoken tone and slight arrogant attitued  he talked quiet a while about his female cousin on holiday at Skegness.

Although Leslie always speaks in her own voice, she uses the vocabulary of the person attached to her. A few of us get the shivers (me) as she holds her head up and slowly looks around inspecting everyone. Her black eyes lock onto you and I want to run, fast!

Harold said that he had had pneumonia, but he never died with it (so he thinks). Sue tried to persuade him to go to the light and join his cousin on the other side, but he seemed very determined to stay, and sat arranging his desk and speaking to us for at least half an hour. Perhaps the next person he attaches himself too will have better luck helping him over.

When Leslie finally came round, she remembered nothing of the incident, and was amazed at all the details we had collected. She is never fazed about these spirit encounters and has no after effects of her ordeal. She just wishes she could remember.

***************************

An unexplained incident happened to me (Jen) one evening at Sue’s class. She asked me to look at her and say what colour she was thinking of. This was impossible, I thought to myself. I had no confidence at this stage. I stared into Sue’s face not quiet knowing what I was looking for. I looked around her head, was it going to appear in her aura? into her eyes, then her third eye. I felt a fool not being able to see anything. I had not been attending class very long and was having problems trying to adjust to this new phenomenon.

Oz took pity on me and explained that I was to concentrate my gaze at the area just above the centre between his eyes. This I did. I sat and stared, it seemed like ages. All of a sudden I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. On his forehead was a hazy shade of blue. It was there before me, I had seen it for myself. It didn’t matter what others said from now on, I was hooked. Oz is very good at explaining things to you; he helped me out with a bad smell once. I’ll explain that one later.
